Craft Wire
Craft wire is a wonderful material to work with. It is contempory
and yet versitile. It can be used on invitaions, cards and other
projects. You can start with a straight piece of wire and
with a little bending and twisting you can create a totally unique
piece.
The wire is easy to bend and shape.
For a stylish and interesting effect wire can be passed through
two holes in a card, where the wire is visible beads can be threaded
for effect. By making 2 holes in a piece of card you can thread
the end wire through one of the holes and secure on the back and
then thread beads on before passing the wire though the second
hole and securing the wire on the back of the card (see examples
at the bottom of the page)
Wire can add a totally new feel to a card simply by wrapping
wire around a precut shape or around a backing square. (see
example)
 When
combined with beads you can create truly unique pieces. With
2 pegs in a board you can make a simple template to begin
to make more complex embellishments such as flowers or the
lovely dragonfly. Swirls are a good shape to begin with and
can be used as embellishments on a variety of cards. Cut a
small length of your wire, use pointed nose plyers to begin
the swirl then the  swirl
can be finished with your fingers. the lightweight wire is
easily attached to your work with PVA
glue.
